DIY Recycled Computer Desk

I've been looking for a solution for a computer desk for the longest time. I was looking for something simple, narrow in depth but long in width, and cheap. I picked up the folding closet door below for $5.00 at Habitat Restore.
I applied two coats of paint on one panel after disconnecting the doors.
My favorite handyman attached three sturdy brackets to the studs.
And I now have the desk that I've always wanted. Including the cost of the brackets and paint, the project totaled just under $30.00.

  1. We don't have much space or $ to get a desk so this is great! Thanks for sharing!

  6. This is exactly what I was looking for. A desk space that was long but not too deep. Thank you! Where did you get the brackets? I am guessing I can get some at Home Depot or Lowes?

    1. Thank you for reading! I picked the brackets up at either Home Depot or Lowes. Both places have them. I've had two of these desks up for a year or more and they are holding strong! Also, check out my new blog at heypaulstudios.com. Thanks! Kristen
